ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਮੋਗਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੂਨ, 2020 ਵਿਚ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਏ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਂਸਟੇਬਲ ਜਗਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਐਕਸ-ਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਮੁਆਵਜ਼ੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਚੈਕ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ। ਮੋਗਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਾਣੂਕੇ ਗਿੱਲ ਦਾ 46 ਸਾਲਾ ਕਾਂਸਟੇਬਲ ਜਗਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੋ ਕਿ 2011 ਬੈਚ ਵਿਚ ਬਤੌਰ ਕਾਂਸਟੇਬਲ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, 8 ਜੂਨ, 2020 ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਿਲੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਮੋਗਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਖੋਸਾ ਪਾਂਡੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਖੁੱਲੇਆਮ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਉਣ 'ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਗਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਇਥੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਿਵਲ ਸਕੱਤਰੇਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਜਗਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਚੈੱਕ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਆਫ ਪੁਲਿਸ (ਡੀਜੀਪੀ) ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਿਨਕਰ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਾਂਸਟੇਬਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ 10 + 2 ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ।

Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, handed over a cheque of ₹1 crore as ex-gratia compensation to the family of slain Punjab Police Constable Jagmohan Singh, who had unfortunately got killed in the line-of-duty in Manuke Gill, Moga in June, 2020. A 2011 batch Punjab Police Constable Jagmohan Singh, 46, a resident of village Manuke Gill in Moga, died after a criminal opened fire at the police team that reached Khosa Pando village of Moga in connection with a complaint of arson on June 8, 2020. Prior to joining the Punjab Police, Jagmohan had also served in the Indian Army. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, accompanied by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Dinkar Gupta, handed over cheque of ₹1 crores to Sukhwinder Kaur, widow of Martyr Jagmohan Singh, at Punjab Civil Secretariat here today. The CM also promised a job to the son of the police martyr, who was also present today, as soon as he completed his 10+2 education.
